Why movement comes first

In the clinic, much of our work starts with movement: rolling, crawling, climbing, swinging and balancing. These are the patterns that help the body organize itself, and they're the foundation that primitive reflex integration work is built on.

At home, the goal isn't to recreate therapy. It's to give your child lots of chances to move in rich, varied ways every day. The best movement toys invite that again and again and grow with your child.

What to look for

  • Invites whole-body movement: climbing, crawling, rocking, balancing
  • Adjustable challenge so it grows with your child
  • Fits your space (plenty of options work in an apartment)

Safety: Mount swings and climbers with rated hardware and always supervise movement play. Reflex integration programs should be guided by a trained therapist.
