Swings, crash pads, climbers & flexible seating

Sensory Room

Play couches, crash pads, indoor swings and wiggle seats: the pieces that turn any room into a place to move, crash and reset.

An OT's buying guide

Building a sensory room at home

You don't need a whole sensory room. A few well-chosen pieces, something to climb or crash into, something to swing or rock in, and a cozy spot to retreat to, cover most of what kids need to regulate at home.

Start with how your child already plays. Crashers and climbers do best with a play couch or crash pad. Movers love a swing. Kids who hide under blankets want a cozy, enclosed corner. Flexible seating like wobble cushions lets wigglers move while they work.

What to look for

  • Durable, washable covers
  • Pieces your child can rearrange and build with
  • A footprint that fits your room (measure first)

Safety: Ceiling swings need a rated mount installed into a joist or beam. Keep crash zones clear of furniture edges, and always supervise.
